The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II is tasked with orchestrating and overseeing all facets of production planning and scheduling. This role necessitates leading planning initiatives and analyzing data to devise the most cost-effective and efficient production schedules that can be executed successfully. Individuals in this position are expected to manage projects and make informed decisions with minimal oversight. A commitment to continuous process improvement is essential to enhance key performance indicators such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), backorder management, schedule adherence, and resource utilization. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage key performance metrics including on-time delivery and safety stock levels for products and raw materials.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for the preparation and presentation of planning reports and projects.
  • Assist in the timely and precise planning of material requirements to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the movement of materials throughout the production cycle to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support the coordination of new product introductions as assigned.
  • Provide management with insights for rescheduling in response to design modifications, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential disruptions.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously, either by facilitating or leading with minimal supervision.
  • Employ creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information and address less clearly defined planning challenges.
  • Identify objectives, regularly review and update supervisors, and complete performance management documentation.
  • Implement changes to material masters, product structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Routers as necessary.
  • Reassess orders and requirements as needed by analyzing demand trends, lead times, minimum order quantities, standard batch sizes, and safety stock levels.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and partial shipments, expediting as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with external departments to resolve issues.
  • Identify and proactively communicate risks related to inventory stock levels to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze root causes of stockouts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Possess a solid understanding of ISO/FDA, GMP, ISO regulations, and other compliance requirements relevant to diagnostics manufacturing.
  • Maintain all documentation related to the operations planning function, including backlog reports, lead-time analyses, shop floor orders, delivery performance, and production status reports.
  • Manage replenishment levels for applicable safety stocking programs.
  • Key areas of focus also include evaluating capacity requirements, monitoring production readiness, ensuring material availability, and supporting activities related to MRP system maintenance.
  • Understand and implement relevant company and departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, data science, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in planning and scheduling or a related field.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze situations, recommend solutions, and drive continuous improvements to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, with attention to detail and robust analytical skills.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and regulatory policies and guidelines.
  • Possess project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet impending deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/FDA, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for diagnostics manufacturing.
  • OSHA safety compliance is required.
  • Highly responsive to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization to meet requirements.
  • Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate to implement improvements and cost-saving initiatives in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
