Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II is tasked with orchestrating and optimizing all facets of production planning and scheduling. This role necessitates the ability to lead planning initiatives and analyze data to formulate the most cost-effective and efficient production schedules that can be executed successfully. Individuals in this capacity will spearhead projects and make informed decisions with minimal oversight. Continuous process improvement will be a key focus, aimed at enhancing critical metrics such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), backorder management, schedule adherence, and overall utilization. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and manage key performance indicators, including on-time delivery and safety stock levels.
2. Prepare and present planning reports with excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Ensure timely and accurate planning of material requirements to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
4. Schedule and oversee the movement of materials through the production cycle to ensure timely delivery.
5. Assist in coordinating new product introductions as assigned.
6. Provide management with insights for rescheduling due to design changes, labor shortages, and other potential disruptions.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
8. Utilize creative problem-solving skills to address complex planning challenges.
9. Implement changes to material masters, product structures, BOMs, and Routers as necessary.
10. Analyze trends in demand and adjust orders and requirements accordingly.
11. Follow up on open orders and expedite shipments as needed.
12. Collaborate with external departments to resolve issues proactively.
13. Communicate inventory risks to relevant stakeholders during planning meetings.
14. Investigate root causes of stockouts and collaborate with cross-functional teams for solutions.
15. Maintain compliance with ISO/FDA, GMP, and other regulatory standards relevant to diagnostics manufacturing.
16. Control all documentation related to operations planning, including backlog reports and production status updates.
17. Manage replenishment levels for safety stock programs.
18. Evaluate capacity requirements and monitor production readiness and material availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, data science, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years in planning and scheduling or related fields.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent knowledge of production planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with ISO/FDA, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
