Senior Financial Controller

SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing essential balance sheet accounts and analyzing financial data through various responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the month-end closing process by verifying journal entries and documentation prepared by junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and providing necessary guidance.
- Preparing journal entries and reconciliations for designated accounts during the month-end close.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance existing accounting procedures and proposing effective solutions.
- Assisting in the resolution of complex accounting challenges.
- Creating, reviewing, and distributing financial reports utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning.
- Analyzing financial data and trends to ensure precision and recommending corrective journal entries as needed.
- Managing the Concur Expense system and handling all related reporting and accrual requirements.
- Understanding the accounting functionalities of the ERP system (Infor M3) and assisting in its maintenance or modification as necessary.
- Collecting data and submitting filings for annual U.S. census reports.
- Providing assistance with special projects as required.
- Supporting external auditors during the annual company audit.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may involve some supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; five years of experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel and intermediate to advanced Access skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
