Position Summary
The Lead Mitigation Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing both emergency and non-emergency service tasks, employing advanced methods for water and fire damage mitigation, as well as addressing areas affected by mold, water, or fire. Key responsibilities include ensuring a fully equipped company vehicle is ready for deployment, managing necessary documentation, preparing work sites for demolition, conducting cleaning, setting up equipment, and consistently monitoring moisture levels until project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise emergency water extraction operations.
- Oversee the removal of debris from damaged drywall, cabinetry, and flooring.
- Execute demolition activities as required.
- Manage the setup of emergency service equipment.
- Effectively lead crew members and other personnel on job sites.
- Comply with EPA, OSHA, and local regulations regarding safety and hazardous materials.
- Guide teams in the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Review daily project requirements, document progress, and communicate updates and challenges to management.
- Conduct weekly inspections of all jobs for quality control, safety, and compliance.
- Provide accurate field documentation and sketches for all projects.
- Maintain humidity content records, complete psychrometry records, and establish drying objectives.
- Calculate the cubic meters of affected areas and request additional resources for large water loss projects.
- Ensure maintenance and repair of drying equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of consumable materials.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in optimal working condition.
Qualifications
- Valid IICRC water certification is mandatory.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the restoration construction sector.
- Familiarity with MICA, Dash, or similar water mitigation software is preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction safety principles.
- Proficient in using communication devices and technology.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet business needs.
- Ability to work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel and work during nights and weekends.
- In-depth knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to interpret mold assessment protocols for remediation tasks.
- Eligible to operate a vehicle according to company policy.
