Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist for our client. This role is essential in providing internal service desk support services.
Role Details:
Position: Technical Support Specialist
Location: Onsite
Contract Duration: 6+ months
Compensation: $17/hr. on W2
Job Responsibilities:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver comprehensive support for end-user technology. This includes the setup, configuration, and ongoing administration of devices such as desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones, and software applications. As a customer service-oriented position, frequent interaction with users is necessary to troubleshoot issues, provide assistance, and communicate resolutions effectively.
User Support:
- Deliver level 1 and occasional level 2 support for end-user technology, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Respond promptly to user-reported technology issues to ensure efficient support.
- Gather additional information to fully understand problems and ensure users feel acknowledged.
- Analyze and resolve issues when possible to meet user needs.
- Document issue details and troubleshooting steps to build a knowledge base and support reporting metrics.
- Manage workload independently and communicate expected resolution timelines.
- Identify next steps for resolution and escalate issues as necessary.
- Engage with vendors for troubleshooting and support as needed.
- Assist in technical training to prepare staff for changes and effective tool usage.
- Provide expertise and act as a change champion within the organization.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical and business process issues efficiently.
Operational Duties:
- Monitor end-user technology to address performance, security, or usability concerns.
- Configure, install, and maintain technology to ensure compliance with standards.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of IT assets to support informed decision-making.
Development Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the creation of user training materials and manuals.
- Support the refinement of installation processes for efficient deployment of systems.
- Research and recommend technology solutions to meet business needs.
- Assist in identifying appropriate technology solutions by evaluating industry products and standards.
