Position Overview:
Crisis Support Specialist (Part-time/On Call)
Location: Remote options available after 90 days
Job Status: Part-time/on call
Compensation: DOE, $19-22/hr.

Your Responsibilities:
Crisis Support Specialists are responsible for providing 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling via phone to clients experiencing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or seeking information on mental health services. The Crisis and Information Hotline serves as a vital resource for all calls made to 988 in our service areas, offering after-hours crisis support for various community partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting crisis intervention and risk assessment screenings.
  • Developing safety plans and providing follow-up support.
  • Advocating for clients based on their assessed needs.
After a 90-day period, there are options for remote work, pending approval. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a QMHA-R level certification (Certifications - MHACBO).

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or current enrollment in a BA/BS program focusing on psychology, social work, mental health, or behavioral sciences. A BA/BS degree is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within an integrated team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in high-stress situations.
  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.
  • Ability to engage in self-reflection.
