Job Overview

Position Title: Project Cost Analyst

Reporting To: Company President

Overview: The Project Cost Analyst is a vital, on-site role responsible for generating accurate cost assessments for various projects, catering to clients, dealers, and builders promptly to facilitate the sales process. Effective communication is essential to address inquiries and convey information clearly.

Working Hours: Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities: To excel in this position, an individual must successfully execute each essential duty. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additional responsibilities may include cross-training and collaboration with other departments.

  • Evaluate blueprints and other documentation to prepare precise cost estimates.
  • Assist with inquiries from clients or dealer/builders as required.
  • Collaborate with sales managers, engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to ensure accuracy.
  • Notify immediate supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Maintain an updated pricing spreadsheet reflecting current and indirect costs.
  • Complete and archive pricing worksheets to establish costs for panel systems and accessory items based on plans or sketches provided by Regional Sales Managers or clients.
  • Adhere to approved estimating practices in line with company protocols.
  • Deliver comprehensive and accurate estimates or proposals for each project.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to assist in the completion of cost estimates and proposals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Strong understanding of construction and manufacturing processes.
  • Engage in Lean Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience: Associate Degree or relevant practical experience in labor. A solid understanding of construction and manufacturing is essential.

Skills: Proficient in Office applications, self-motivated, exceptional organizational abilities, effective communication skills, detail-oriented, strong mathematical skills, excellent customer service aptitude, collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and the capability to interpret drawings.
