DNV is currently looking for an Energy Efficiency Engineer to join our energy division. This position will focus on the New Mexico Region.The role of the Energy Efficiency Engineer encompasses the evaluation and validation of the technical merits associated with business energy efficiency and EV charging station incentive applications.
In this capacity, you will provide technical support through training sessions, formal presentations, and personalized meetings to facilitate project execution for participating clients and Trade Allies.
The position also requires addressing and proactively managing technical inquiries from clients and contractors to enhance program participation.Additionally, you will promote energy efficiency initiatives to clients through site audits and assessments (both virtual and in-person) to verify existing equipment and operational conditions while recommending the installation of energy-saving devices and operational modifications.
This role is based at our DNV office in Albuquerque, NM, offering a dynamic hybrid work schedule where employees typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location.

- Assess technical merits of business energy efficiency and EV charging station incentive applications
- Review, analyze, and provide guidance on detailed engineering specifications and drawings for new applications
- Enter and analyze data using spreadsheets, report templates, and web-based tools to identify energy savings opportunities and customer building information
- Conduct customer site inspections and engage with clients to address inquiries or concerns regarding installed equipment or programmatic information
- Foster and promote relationships with industry and solution partners to maximize project implementation, promote efficiency, and educate clients while maintaining a robust pipeline exceeding program participation goals

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher; a degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, though other disciplines may also be considered
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering or field work experience is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of lighting components, HVAC equipment, HVAC and lighting control systems, and building envelope components
- Familiarity with energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.) and Energy Star components
- Knowledge of ASHRAE level 1 energy auditing
- Ability to lead and/or conduct on-site and virtual audits and customer site visits in various environments including commercial, industrial, schools, and government facilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and intermediate proficiency in MS Word is required
- Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time within New Mexico; some overnight travel may be required
- Reliable transportation and a current driver's license are required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. to waist height, climb ladders, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods
