As a Senior Video Conferencing Solutions Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Energy's initiatives across various locations in the United States. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring seamless communication and collaboration through advanced video teleconferencing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess extensive experience with AV VTC equipment and be a certified programmer for all services involving modification or reprogramming of control equipment.
  • Design and develop Unified Communications and Video Conferencing systems.
  • Oversee the configuration and maintenance of Voice and Video Conferencing Systems.
  • Lead delivery efforts at client sites.
  • Assess vulnerabilities and maintain security compliance for Voice and Video Conferencing Systems.
  • Provide support for scheduled and unplanned outages, regardless of scale and impact.
  • Guide and mentor less-experienced VC/UC personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Act as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms.
  • Conduct expert-level analysis of voice, video, and integration with data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
  • Plan and configure systems for user environments.
  • Support the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Engage with various clients to assess strategic video and collaboration needs.
  • Document systems configurations, including drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • Review reports and logs for issues and identify appropriate solutions, including developing workflows for lower-tier support levels.
  • Provide primary and backup support in maintaining Video and UC hardware and software.
  • Prepare diagrams and documentation for multiple audiences, including federal customer leadership and contractors.
  • Create project plans and presentations for executive management, as well as technical diagrams and checklists for operations staff.
  • Submit Change Control Proposals (CCP) for the Change Approval Board (CAB).
  • Develop and update technical documentation in support of certification and accreditation for the network.
  • Assist and lead problem resolution activities, coordinating with vendors, tracking and escalating trouble tickets, identifying and implementing service restoration workarounds, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Hold IAT II 8570 certification (Security+ CE).
  • Possess Security Clearance Level TSDOE Q.
  • Willingness to submit to random drug screening.
  • Possess Video Teleconferencing Certifications, including programming certifications.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
7-12 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

  • Experience in Voice and Video Engineering, Infrastructure including:
  • Design, Maintenance, Support, Deployment, Implementation, Systems Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge in Cisco Unified Communications Systems.
  • QoS Quality of Service.
  • Cisco Unity Connection.
  • VCS.
  • Streaming Video.
  • Cisco Video devices including endpoints and Multi-point Control Units (MCUs) and Cisco Expressway solutions.
  • Crestron and Codex VTC units.
  • Microsoft Teams and other Collaboration tools (Webex).
  • A video teleconferencing certification.
  • Strong background with Cisco Meeting Server, VQ Conference Manager, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience managing virtualized applications or knowledge of how to manage virtualized applications.
