Job Summary

Hennepin Arts is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Box Office Associate to join our team. As a key member of our box office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, selling tickets, and ensuring a seamless experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ticket Sales and Customer Service: Sell tickets in-person, answer phone inquiries, and provide accurate information on shows, facilities, and theatre policies.
  • Subscriber Support: Assist subscribers with their needs, including season subscription inquiries and issues.
  • Training and Development: Assist management with training new staff and lead by example.
  • Box Office Operations: Oversee daily upkeep of the box office, including filing, cleaning, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Reporting and Data Entry: Provide sales reports, enter data for internal and external reporting, and process statistical information for archives.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate supply inventory for the box office.
  • Theatre Maps and Schedules: Create and maintain theatre maps, schedules of events, and other sales tools for box office windows.
  • Lost and Found: Track and maintain lost and found items in accordance with standard box office policy.
  • Setup and Closing Procedures: Set up show files, count banks, unlock doors, and perform other routine duties related to opening and closing the box office.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Customer Service Experience: Proven strong customer service experience, with previous experience handling cash and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mathematical Competency: Basic mathematical competency and cash counting skills.
  • Box Office/Ticketing Experience: Previous experience in box office or ticketing is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Sit for long periods, stand, walk, reach overhead, and crouch.
  • Loud Noise: Work in a loud noise environment, with evenings, weekends, or holidays required.
