Job Summary

Hennepin Arts is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Box Office Associate to join our team. As a key member of our box office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, selling tickets, and ensuring a seamless experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ticket Sales and Customer Service: Sell tickets in-person and over the phone, providing accurate information and resolving customer inquiries in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Subscriber Support: Assist subscribers with their needs, including ticket exchanges, refunds, and other subscription-related matters.
  • Box Office Operations: Maintain the daily upkeep of the box office, including accurate filing, cleaning, and stocking of schedules and marketing materials.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Enter sales data and generate reports for internal and external use.
  • Supply Management: Maintain adequate supply inventory for the box office.
  • Theatre Maps and Schedules: Create and maintain theatre maps, schedules of events, and other sales tools as needed.
  • Lost and Found: Track and maintain lost and found items in accordance with standard box office policy.
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Perform routine duties related to opening and closing the box office, including counting banks, unlocking doors, and turning on lights.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Customer Service Experience: Proven strong customer service experience, with a focus on providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cash Handling: Previous experience handling cash and maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Mathematical Competency: Basic mathematical competency and cash counting skills.
  • Box Office/Ticketing Experience: Previous experience in a box office or ticketing environment is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Sit for long periods, stand, walk, reach overhead, and crouch.
  • Loud Noise: Work in a loud noise environment, with occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays required.
