Position Overview
Community Safety Officer

Join our team at Sherman Associates, where we prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents. We are looking for dedicated individuals to serve as Community Safety Officers, ensuring a secure environment for our community members.

Compensation:
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour + Comprehensive Benefits

Work Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours per week), Wednesday to Sunday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols of the assigned residential areas.
  • Assist residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with emergency services and community members to address issues effectively.
  • Investigate reported incidents and determine appropriate responses based on the circumstances.
  • Document accidents, incidents, and any security-related occurrences through detailed reports.
  • Perform routine inspections and prepare necessary security documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate any deficiencies to management.
  • Notify relevant personnel of maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Complete additional tasks as required by the organization.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in security or safety roles.
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience in military or law enforcement is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in Somali, Oromo, or Arabic is a plus.
  • Respond to emergencies with professionalism and composure.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in resolving conflicts.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills for monitoring and reporting.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Oromo, Somali, or Amharic.
  • Experience in military, law enforcement, or private security sectors.
Work Environment:
  • This role operates within a residential and office setting, which may involve exposure to various hazards.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively, stand, walk, and utilize hands for various tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, as well as depth perception.
