Position Summary

The Security Officer position is a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, families, and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment through regular patrols of the hospital and grounds, responding to emergencies and incidents, and providing excellent customer service to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital and grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and professional manner

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Complete reports and documentation as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business, Psychology, or Sociology preferred
  • Prior experience in law enforcement or security preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
  • POST skills completed
  • International Association of Hospital Safety and Security (Basic) certification
  • First Responder certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
  • OSHA first responder certification
Physical Demands

The Security Officer position requires the ability to walk and climb stairs, as well as work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. The position also requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including extreme weather conditions.
