Position Overview

Application Developer III

This role entails the design, development, and upkeep of software applications across a diverse technology landscape. The developer will assist in testing, debugging, and refining applications to ensure the final product meets required specifications. The position involves devising programming solutions to address various challenges and preparing both program-level and user-level documentation. The individual in this role will work with minimal supervision and is expected to possess a high level of expertise and knowledge in the field.

This position is typically suited for a professional developer who is an expert in their domain, potentially holding relevant professional certifications.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in project-specific tools, applications, and programming languages is essential. Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Database Management:

Required Software: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, SQL Server Management

We maintain several Access Databases and one SQL Database:

  1. Over 30 Access Databases are supported, with varying levels of usage.
  2. The SQL database consists of more than 50 tables, supporting approximately seven of the most utilized applications in the plants.

Programming:

Required Software: Visual Studio

Responsibilities include creating and maintaining in-house programs to automate general administrative tasks:

  1. Utilizing Visual Studio to develop Windows Forms.
  2. All programs are developed using Visual Basic or C# languages, incorporating SQL code for database interactions.

PHD Management:

Required Software: Uniformance Process Studio, PHD Configuration Tool, PHD Manager

Responsibilities include supporting and managing the plant's PHD historian:

  1. Managing PHD tags and ensuring accurate data collection.
  2. Troubleshooting errors on PHD servers as they arise.

Server Support:

Required Software: Remote Desktop

Support for Level 3 servers and the applications installed on them:

  1. Primary servers include those running PHD, functioning across four different servers, with two servers designated for each plant.
  2. Approximately 13 servers are supported, each with distinct applications and purposes.

Reporting:

Required Software: SAP, Microsoft Access

  1. Preparation of three monthly reports at the beginning of each month.
  2. Creation and execution of reports as needed using SQL and Access databases.
