Position Overview: The Patient Access Representative I will join our dedicated team at Fairview Hospital, a facility recognized for its advanced research, cutting-edge technology, and world-class patient care. As a member of our team, you will receive ongoing support and opportunities for professional growth within one of the most esteemed healthcare organizations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient registrations through accurate face-to-face interviews to gather essential demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information.
- Cross-train to support various areas of Patient Access, including Front Desk, Admitting Office, Emergency Department, and Cashier.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while serving as a Super User and resource for training new team members.
- Ensure accurate registration and cash collection processes within the Epic system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, with in-person or phone contact.
- Associates or Bachelors degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient in common software applications and capable of multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrates initiative, accepts constructive feedback, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Possesses excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively, perform work in a stationary position for extended periods, and operate office equipment. Some locations may require the ability to travel within the hospital system and lift up to 25 lbs.
