Role Overview:
The Patient Access Coordinator is tasked with registering, scheduling, and preregistering patients for various healthcare services, including inpatient, emergency, and outpatient procedures. This role involves educating patients about their insurance benefits and managing payment collection prior to or at the time of service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face interviews to gather accurate demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information for patient registrations.
- Be cross-trained to support all Patient Access areas, including Front Desk, Admitting Office, Emergency Department, and Cashier.
- Maintain high productivity and quality standards while serving as a Super User.
- Provide training and support for new team members and assist in the implementation of new processes.
- Utilize Epic for registration and cash collection tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role.
- A patient, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
- A solid work ethic and professionalism.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An Associate's degree may substitute for up to one year of experience, while a Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two years.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of PC software applications and ability to navigate multiple data systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred, with completion of relevant coursework within one year.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information.
- Capability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods and to handle physical records or operate a computer.
