About the Role

As a Patient Access Representative at University Hospitals, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional administrative support to our world-renowned healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview and register patients in a face-to-face setting or over the phone
  • Enter and validate medical, demographic, insurance, financial, and business data in a timely and courteous manner
  • Prepare patient materials, including forms, labels, brochures, and surveys
  • Maintain confidential health records and process physician orders
  • Identify and communicate the need for interpreter services
  • Provide patient education on third-party coverage and liabilities
  • Communicate possible payment options and connect patients to financial counselors as needed
  • Collect, post, and balance patient payments
  • Maintain expertise in PAS legal and compliance requirements
  • Handle patient inquiries regarding services and logistics
  • Recruit and train patients to access My UH Care Personal Health Record
  • Ensure achievement of productivity and quality standards

Additional Responsibilities

  • Function as an integrated team member, working collaboratively with other staff and providers to improve patient experience and department efficiency
  • Participate in UH emergency preparedness
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Be cross-trained to perform other duties as assigned
  • May be scheduled to work at off-sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards
