Muscle deterioration is a common concern in patients suffering from chronic liver conditions and other severe organ diseases, significantly impacting their clinical outcomes.

As a Clinical Research Coordinator I, you will oversee the compliant execution and management of human subject research projects, typically characterized by lower workload and complexity.

This position will allow you to lead a diverse team informally, collaborating with Physicians, Nurses, Research Coordinators, laboratory staff, Financial Analysts, and Quality Assurance Coordinators.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating, implementing, and conducting research projects while ensuring compliance with research protocols, including maintaining regulatory documents and data management.
  • Handle IRB submissions and communicate effectively with the research team.
  • Report and complete Serious Adverse Events and safety logs as required, in accordance with protocols.
  • Collaborate with study teams to schedule site visits and monitor compliance throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Work alongside primary investigators and research staff to plan and evaluate project protocols, including subject recruitment.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring the quality of research data.
  • Prepare for audits and assist in developing research tools, such as spreadsheets and questionnaires.
  • Maintain professional relationships and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the informed consent process and contribute to budget development for research projects.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or science-related field is preferred and may offset experience requirements.

Minimum of two years of clinical research or healthcare experience is required, with proficiency in various computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Within 90 days of hire, successful completion of certification in Human Subjects Research is required.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods, operate office equipment, and communicate effectively.

In some cases, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be necessary.


Compensation:

The anticipated pay range for this position is between $20.77 and $31.68 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's comprehensive benefits package.
