The Senior Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing field operations related to Plant Maintenance. This position entails ensuring the safe and environmentally responsible execution of maintenance tasks, evaluating work for quality and thoroughness, tracking performance metrics, and upholding procedural adherence. Additional responsibilities encompass the development and mentorship of frontline personnel, providing planning assistance, managing material resources, updating work schedules, and addressing fundamental labor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prioritize safety in all operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures without exception.

+ Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, maintaining strict adherence to established guidelines.

+ Promote a culture of nuclear safety and quality within the Waste Treatment Plant by emphasizing core values in work execution.

+ Implement maintenance work packages and procedures effectively, including pre-planning, material preparation, necessary permits, and coordination with support teams.

+ Assess completed work to ensure alignment with objectives, policy compliance, effective coordination, technical soundness, and responsiveness to guidelines.

+ Integrate maintenance and operational efficiencies in accordance with company policies, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

+ Approve crew compositions and personnel assignments as needed.

+ Collaborate with Labor Relations on frontline worker recognition and performance improvement initiatives.

+ Mentor staff on labor relations policies and practices.

+ Undertake additional tasks to support Construction, Start-up, and Plant Operations as required to adapt to evolving project demands.

+ Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities as necessary.

+ Manage warehouse operations and support functions.

+ Review scheduling activities for workforce and resource allocation, providing recommendations for staffing needs.

+ Offer updates and status reports on project schedules.

+ Coordinate with subcontractors, facilitating necessary training and reporting.

+ Participate in cross-functional meetings to relay schedule updates and status to relevant organizations.

+ Establish and oversee essential programs within the maintenance division, such as welding, measurement and test equipment, scaffolding, and rigging.

+ Monitor assignments to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints while adhering to outlined policies and expectations.

+ This job description is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as required by business needs.

+ Be prepared to act as Site Superintendent during off-hours in case of emergencies.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in instrumentation and controls is required.

OR

An Associate's Degree in Business Administration or a related technical field with at least 8 years of supervisory experience in instrumentation and controls is required.

OR

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related technical field with a minimum of 6 years of supervisory experience in instrumentation and controls is required.

Supervisory experience may include activities such as corrective or preventive maintenance, instrumentation calibration, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, materials management, production processes, and engineering or knowledge of measurement and test equipment requirements.

Three years of experience in a Nuclear Facility is required as per DOE O Nuclear Experience, which includes experience at facilities where radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized.

+ Relevant experience in design, construction, and operational training may be considered applicable nuclear experience and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

+ Full-time academic training may substitute for two of the three years of nuclear experience on a one-for-one basis.

Preferred Experience:

+ Experience in maintenance or operations, planning, work control, material management, project scheduling, and supervisory roles within DOD/DOE/ISMS/VPP environments is preferred.

+ Outage coordination or execution experience is also preferred, along with familiarity with plant modifications and mechanical, electrical, or fire protection systems.

+ Experience supervising craft or union employees is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves a combination of desk work, including writing and computer tasks, as well as field activities requiring inspections, testing, and equipment operations. Candidates should be prepared for physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and wearing personal protective equipment. Occasional loading and transport of tools and supplies may be necessary.
