Key Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys with case planning, development, and management, including legal research, client communication, and drafting and filing legal documents.
  • Manage attorney dockets to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Review files and confer with attorneys to discuss file status and upcoming deadlines.
  • Prepare for client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, and trial proceedings.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including letters, briefs, memorandums, discovery, and other relevant documents.
  • Maintain client files, both electronic and physical.
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis to ensure their needs are met.
  • Conduct legal research and draft documents as needed.
  • Provide top-notch legal products and superior service to clients.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, and workflow process improvements.
  • Exercise leadership in coordinating the work, training, and mentoring of internal office staff and other administrative staff.
  • Cover the front desk and phones as needed to ensure prompt and professional service to clients and other office visitors.
  • Maintain a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, judges, court staff, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Paralegal certificate.
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the phone and through written communications.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • College graduate with a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills and an ability to successfully juggle multiple mandates at the same time.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to effectively use both data and experience-based instinct to make decisions.
  • Positive and professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment/Conditions/Physical Demands
