About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Designer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing civil site and structural designs for heavy industrial facilities, with a focus on nuclear quality and safety environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate and check civil site and structural deliverables, including drawings and 3D models, for earthwork/site and structural design.
  • Review and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
  • Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.
  • Work with civil/structural/architectural supervisors to plan, budget, and schedule drawing and 3D model deliverables within the discipline.
  • Participate in project design/model reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or AA/AS degree with 7-9 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced experience in the use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Tekla, and Revit or similar software.
  • Work experience should emphasize civil site and structural design of heavy industrial type facilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with the provisions of ASTM, ACI, AISC, ASTM, and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
  • Familiarity with the methods of procurement and control of bulk materials.
  • Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other disciplines associated with Facilities Design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the sitework, earthwork, roadway, drainage, and structural design (steel and concrete) for Nuclear Quality and Safety Environment.
  • AA in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher, or working knowledge of other process improvement programs.
