The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced consulting leader to join our team as Associate Vice President, Washington DC.
Building on our continued success, this role will see you lead a team delivering consulting services in a multifaceted advisory environment, helping to build our presence on the East Coast and further enhancing our reputation with agencies and A&E firms as a preferred partner.
You will be responsible for overseeing the Washington DC team for all consulting engagements, including technical content, budgets, deliverables, and client relationships within the geography.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned rail consulting professional to join a rapidly growing team, reporting directly to the Regional Director, US.
Key Accountabilities- Ensure that NRC's business remains focused, of high quality, and profitable, achieving the desired market positioning, and receiving the highest satisfaction levels from clients, especially based on performance and client relationships.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and direction to technical team and project managers.
- Support and contribute to marketing outreach, the generation of market intelligence, the identification of bid opportunities, and help position NRC in the phases leading up to RFP.
- Assemble teams to resource projects at the pre-proposal stage, including identifying existing members of the NRC US team and recruiting locally-based staff in accordance with agreed business plan targets.
- Support accurate and detailed sales forecasting and budgeting for the United States to aid NRC budgeting, cashflow projections, etc. using NRC's Salesforce and BST applications.
- Periodically, stand in for Regional Director, US, at presentations, and panel talks.
- Conduct business in line with governance and policies established for NRC, driving forwards key diversity and equity.
- Relevant degree.
- Consultancy and business development experience in US Rail & Transit sector with technical and operating requirements.
- Strong commercial focus with regard to business development and contract management within a FAR-based business environment.
- Proven project management experience for consulting, contract, and technical work, including leading all aspects of deliverable products.
- Excellent people management and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative and productive manner.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Existing relationships with clients and partners in the Washington DC geography.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
