About the Role:

The Senior Vice President - Strategic Communications will be responsible for developing and executing proactive, creative campaigns and communications strategies to educate policy makers on key issues and promote USTelecom's mission and agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute communications plans aligning internal, external, and stakeholder communications with association priorities
  • Lead the communications team and work closely with advocacy teams to strategically advocate for and amplify the important achievements, contributions, and interests of the broadband innovation ecosystem
  • Engage regularly with media, industry, and other stakeholders to help shape the national conversation about broadband and the future of connectivity
  • Translate detailed, complex communications policy issues into relatable, engaging messaging
  • Work closely with all teams providing communications counsel to ensure message accuracy and consistency
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of communications/public affairs experience
  • Established relationships with tech, business, and policy media
  • Ability to thrive and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing, editing, and messaging skills
  • Ability to take initiative; motivated and self-starting
