Job Summary

The Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at Whitman-Walker Health, responsible for overseeing the Human Resources department and driving strategic vision for the organization's human resources portfolio.

This role requires a seasoned HR leader with expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing effective HR strategies that drive business results and support the organization's mission.

The Vice President of Human Resources will work closely with Senior Leadership to design, operate, and oversee a talent management strategy focused on excellence, integrity, and equity. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive employee benefits, compensation policies, and training programs that support the organization's goals and values.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, including recruitment, compensation, ethics, labor relations, affirmative action, payroll processing, and benefits administration. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Human Resources department and drive strategic vision for the organization's human resources portfolio
  • Develop and implement comprehensive employee benefits, compensation policies, and training programs
  • Design, operate, and oversee a talent management strategy focused on excellence, integrity, and equity
  • Provide HR leadership across the organization to managers and employees, as well as guidance to executives in support of the organization's mission
  • Conduct confidential, sensitive investigations on violations of company policy and/or local and federal law
  • Ensure compliance with all benefit-related annual filings as required by law
  • Develop and maintain current personnel policies, disseminate these through an Employee Handbook and other documents, and provide training to all employees
  • Supervise the Director of Human Resources, Benefits Manager, and Senior HR Generalists
