Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal HR Specialist to join our team at TCWGlobal. This role will interact daily with clients and employees, and will be responsible for the company's compliance activities, policy development, escalated employee relations, and legal compliance for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Policy Development: Work with the HR Compliance Manager to research and track changing employment laws, and assist in distributing information to relevant parties.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the point of contact for Workers Compensation claims received by the Contingent Workforce, and assist with Leaves of Absence (FMLA and all state laws) requests from the Contingent Workforce.
  • Compliance Support: Assist the Operations team with compliance-related questions and guidance, and provide support for escalated employee relations.
  • Reporting and Investigations: Conduct formal and informal investigations, and provide recommendations and detailed reports in response to investigations and employee relations compliance issues.
  • Contract and Form Development: Develop and modify company forms and contracts used in business operations.
  • Training and Education: Design and assist in the education and training of managers and departments on regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Independent Contractor Eligibility: Assist with Independent Contractor eligibility determinations and compliance management.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, or Regulatory.
  • Paralegal Certificate and/or PHR Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and laws, and disseminate information.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to handle detailed, confidential, and time-sensitive work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Excellent work ethic and team-oriented.
