Position Overview

We are currently in search of a meticulous and organized Paralegal HR Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in managing compliance activities, developing policies, and addressing escalated employee relations matters while ensuring legal adherence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Compliance Manager to monitor and interpret evolving employment regulations, disseminating relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary contact for Workers' Compensation claims related to the Contingent Workforce.
  • Manage requests for Leaves of Absence (including FMLA and applicable state laws) from the Contingent Workforce.
  • Provide compliance-related support and guidance to the Operations team.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee relations issues, offering objective recommendations.
  • Compile comprehensive reports addressing investigations and compliance challenges.
  • Revise and create company forms and contracts utilized in business operations.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions for managers on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Assist in determining eligibility for Independent Contractors and manage compliance efforts.
  • Engage in additional compliance projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, or Compliance/Regulatory roles.
  • Preferred: Paralegal Certificate and/or PHR Certificate.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate regulations and laws effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Capability to manage sensitive, detailed, and time-critical tasks.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and a collaborative team spirit.
