We are seeking a meticulous and organized Paralegal HR Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. This role involves daily interactions with clients and staff, focusing on compliance activities, policy formulation, and legal adherence within the organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a proactive approach to challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Compliance Manager to monitor and analyze evolving employment regulations; disseminate pertinent information to stakeholders.
- Act as the primary contact for Workers' Compensation claims within the Contingent Workforce.
- Manage Leaves of Absence requests in accordance with FMLA and applicable state laws.
- Provide guidance and support to the Operations team regarding compliance inquiries.
- Conduct thorough investigations into escalated employee relations issues and offer well-founded recommendations.
- Compile comprehensive reports addressing investigations and compliance matters.
- Develop and revise company documentation and contracts relevant to business operations.
- Design and facilitate training sessions for management on regulatory and compliance topics.
- Assist in determining Independent Contractor eligibility and managing compliance processes.
- Engage in additional compliance projects as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; a minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, or Compliance roles.
- Preferred certifications include Paralegal and/or PHR.
- Strong ability to interpret and communicate regulations and laws effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment legislation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in managing sensitive and time-critical information.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and collaborative spirit.
