Position Overview

We are currently seeking a meticulous and organized Paralegal HR Specialist to become an integral part of our dynamic team. This role involves daily interactions with clients and staff, focusing on compliance activities, policy formulation, and legal adherence within the organization. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a proactive and positive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Compliance Manager to monitor and analyze evolving employment legislation; disseminate relevant updates to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary contact for Workers' Compensation claims associated with the Contingent Workforce.
  • Manage requests for Leaves of Absence (including FMLA and applicable state laws) from the Contingent Workforce.
  • Support the Operations team by providing guidance on compliance-related inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into escalated employee relations matters and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports addressing investigations and compliance issues related to employee relations.
  • Develop and refine company forms and contracts utilized in business operations.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions for managers and departments on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Assist with determining eligibility for Independent Contractors and managing compliance.
  • Engage in additional compliance projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, or Compliance/Regulatory roles.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Paralegal Certificate and/or PHR Certificate.
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate regulations and laws effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing detailed, confidential, and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel preferred).
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.
