Position Summary and Requirements

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental needs and professional standards. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Respiratory Therapist conducts various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway integrity.
  • Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and communicate with providers as necessary.
  • Support the transportation of patients requiring ventilatory assistance.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring airway safety and ventilation.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Associate Degree or completion of a vocational program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician.
