Role Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental needs and professional standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds and airway integrity.
- Administering respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Assisting in the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapy and intervening as necessary.
- Transporting patients who require ventilatory support.
- Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway management and adequate ventilation.
Qualifications Required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Associate Degree or equivalent vocational training.
- State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician.
