Job Summary and Qualifications
The Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in alignment with departmental requirements and professional standards.

As an essential member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Care Specialist conducts various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients on both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.


Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document patient assessments, including breath sounds and airway integrity.
- Perform diagnostic procedures to assess the need for respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and intervene as necessary.
- Facilitate the transportation of patients requiring ventilatory support.
- Respond to emergency situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.

Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Associate Degree or completion of a Vocational Program.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician.
