Role Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental requirements and professional standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds and airway conditions.
- Administering respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Assisting with the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapies and intervening as necessary.
- Providing support during the transportation of patients requiring ventilatory assistance.
- Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway integrity and ventilation.
Qualifications Required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Associate Degree or completion of a vocational program.
- State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician.
