Job Title: Care Engagement Specialist

Job Summary:

The Care Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting our organization's objectives by facilitating health needs screenings, scheduling preventive service appointments, and educating members about their plan benefits and available services.

This role focuses on improving healthcare adherence, reducing barriers to care, and enhancing member engagement through targeted outreach and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member Outreach: Conduct outbound calls or receive inbound calls from members to schedule doctor appointments, assist with completing Health Needs Screenings, or process payments for eligibility in enhanced benefits.
  • Educational Support: Educate members about the benefits of taking advantage of additional services, including enhanced services and preferred providers. Provide clear guidance on utilizing Emergency Departments appropriately and understanding its impact on benefits.
  • Barrier Identification: Identify and address barriers preventing members from completing health screenings, obtaining necessary services, or making payments. Develop strategies to overcome these obstacles and improve member engagement.
  • Profile Review: Analyze member profiles prior to outreach to identify opportunities for offering additional benefits and enhance member eligibility for available services.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure departmental and organizational goals are achieved and surpassed.
  • Data Analysis: Review and analyze call data to adjust outreach strategies and improve call effectiveness. Prepare and present call reports as needed.
  • Secondary Support: Serve as a secondary resource for the Member Services or Provider Services call centers, providing additional support and expertise as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a sales or call center environment, preferably in a high-pressure setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
