About the Role

Chick-fil-A Supply LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the operation of transportation equipment maintenance program in our Weston, FL location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair activities of our fleet are completed in a timely and orderly fashion, meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall fleet maintenance operation, including up to 3 shifts of employees working nights and weekends.
  • Develop strategies and plans to align available resources and external service providers with the needs of Transportation Operations to maximize the availability of safe and reliable equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance operations are performed in a safe and timely manner, in compliance with safety, quality, and compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform inspections of work being performed and provide feedback to ensure high-quality results.
  • Plan and dispatch daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities, including the coordination of services from external vendors.
  • Responsible and accountable for all maintenance technicians and contractors working in a safe manner.
  • Directly participate in the hiring of new staff or onboarding of new contractors.
  • Proactively communicate with Transportation Operations and Distribution Center Operations any and all maintenance issues that can disrupt delivery service to restaurants.
  • Review performance reports and dashboards to determine if desired outcomes (e.g. KPIs, SLAs) are being achieved and initiate corrective action to address areas requiring attention.
  • Perform vendor management activities, including participating in third-party governance meetings.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure that fleet maintenance requirements are being met.
  • Support off-shift critical work and emergency repairs.
  • Perform duties of Fleet Maintenance Technician, when needed.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems, utilizing technology/software where required.
  • Assist and provide guidance with the diagnostics and repair of complex tasks and activities.
  • Participate in the capital planning process and repair vs. replace decisions.
  • Accountable for ensuring spare parts, tools, equipment, and PPE necessary to support the maintenance operations are available when needed.
  • Coach teams through effective execution and build capability and ownership of systems.
  • Train staff, as required.
  • At least annually, review Fleet Management procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Has P&L responsibilities for the Weston, FL shop and oversees the annual budget.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 8+ years of related experience in Fleet Management and Maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience in supervising.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of on-highway vehicle maintenance (tractors, refrigerated trailers, box trucks, liftgates).
  • Maintains industry-leading knowledge in and offers suggestions/solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Understanding and safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; a team player, yet also able to work independently when necessary.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Prior experience using a CMMS / FMMS Solution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as required if necessary to support Transportation Operations remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience related to Fleet Maintenance for on-highway vehicles.
  • EPA 608 & EPA 609 License Holder.
  • Class A CDL Holder.
  • ASE Certifications Maintained / Up-to-Date.
  • Ability to lead as a servant leader with a demonstrated sense of humility.
  • Deep and robust knowledge of industry standards, leading practices, and industry benchmarks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both alternative fuel vehicles and the capabilities required to support their use.
