Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of equipment and facilities. This position involves engaging in the preventative maintenance program, addressing guest requests, and managing various work orders as assigned. The technician is expected to execute tasks safely and efficiently while performing various trade jobs, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more. A valid driver's license may be required based on property needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operational maintenance and repair of hotel equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs and conduct preventative maintenance in guest rooms, which includes vinyl repairs, touch-up painting, minor furniture fixes, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen appliances, laundry equipment, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting spaces, and recreational facilities like pools and hot tubs.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, maintain laundry equipment, and conduct preventative checks on exhaust fans and supply systems; monitor energy conservation efforts; and repair small equipment as requested.
  • Respond promptly to alarms to ascertain the location and cause, determine emergency status, and report findings accordingly.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a hotel or similar environment is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensure in a relevant trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license for the applicable state is necessary.
  • An acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) is required.
  • Completion of a one-year college or technical school course, or three to six months of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, painting, and HVAC systems are preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail; self-monitor work quality and apply feedback for improvement.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and new methods or procedures.
  • Understanding of safety principles and compliance with federal and state OSHA regulations.
