NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is seeking a dedicated Junior Facilities Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our Facilities team. This role is focused on the effective organization and execution of various maintenance and repair tasks as directed by the Facilities and Maintenance Director. The technician will also participate in emergency on-call rotations and may require travel for off-site assignments.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive pay rate of $20-22/hr, along with paid on-call duties that include reimbursement for phone and travel expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess project requirements and create detailed job plans for approval by the Director.
- Provide accurate materials, labor, and cost estimates to the Director for project completion.
- Complete necessary documentation, including work orders and purchase orders, with appropriate job details.
- Timely submission of equipment damage reports and accident documentation.
- Return unused materials and equipment to the facilities department.
- Conduct repair tasks utilizing modern technology while adhering to local and state regulations.
- Manage on-call emergency responses, coordinating with vendors as needed, and ensure proper follow-up until resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Trade school experience or certification is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in property management and maintenance is required.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with basic construction and maintenance techniques, including knowledge of materials, electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Understanding of spill response protocols, first aid, and CPR.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
