Compensation: $ 60,000.00 annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

This role is responsible for maintaining the SCCM deployment environment and will engage in the CAB process to manage all Microsoft and third-party updates for desktops and/or servers across various state enterprises. This includes patch management and addressing security vulnerabilities. The position provides technical support for user computer systems and is classified as Tier 3 support. Responsibilities encompass resolving cases, requests, and incidents through the ServiceNow incident tracking system, offering both onsite and remote troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to address computer issues and security risks. Additionally, this role involves developing desktop as a service (DTaaS) images for various state agencies as required.

Qualifications

Education**: Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, accompanied by two years of experience in assisting computer users within a distributed computing environment. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements as determined by the agency.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT system administration roles. Proficiency in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience in network administration, covering TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and firewall configuration. Familiarity with server virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, including virtual machine provisioning and management. Experience in managing and maintaining Active Directory services, encompassing user account management, group policies, and security configurations. Proven experience in implementing and managing backup solutions for data protection and disaster recovery. Competence in managing and maintaining data center hardware, including servers, racks, power distribution, and cooling systems.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is essential for streamlining system administration processes. Knowledge of IT security principles and practices is crucial for maintaining a secure IT environment, adhering to standards such as NIST. Experience in maintaining accurate hardware inventory records and tracking equipment lifecycle is required.

  • Security Clearance: A background check is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment and maintained throughout employment.
