Role Summary & Responsibilities

Role Summary:

The Kansas Department of Insurance is looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to take on the role of Consumer Assistance Representative within our Consumer Assistance Division. In this capacity, your main duty will be to support consumers with inquiries and complaints related to insurance, facilitating resolutions whenever feasible. You will also guide consumers in understanding their insurance options. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to assisting others and contributing to our mission of consumer protection and regulation within the insurance sector.

The Consumer Assistance team is characterized by collaboration, diligence, and a positive work atmosphere. Their primary objective is to ensure that insurance providers comply with both state and federal regulations, working together to make informed decisions that benefit the Department and the consumers of Kansas, thereby ensuring a fair and competitive insurance marketplace.

Preferred Qualifications

A degree from an accredited four-year institution in business administration or a related field is preferred. Relevant professional experience in the insurance sector or a closely related area may substitute for formal education as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner of Insurance.
