Position Title: Controls Technician
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Employment Type: Contract
Role Summary:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Executing system commissioning tasks utilizing configuration and commissioning tools.
- Diagnosing and addressing fundamental HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
- Responding to basic warranty inquiries.
- Installing system-level controller software.
- Conducting basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) and completing all necessary commissioning documentation.
- Keeping management and clients informed about job progress and any issues encountered.
- Calibrating systems that require basic electronic testing equipment.
- Completing administrative responsibilities such as time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Documenting modifications and providing information for as-built documentation.
- Communicating with clients upon arrival and before departing the work site.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and participating in mandatory safety training.
- Maintaining a high level of focus on employee and subcontractor safety.
Qualifications:
- Proven technical skills.
- Experience in electrical, HVAC, and control systems.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
- Moderate proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and listening abilities.
- Depending on the location, the installation and termination of low voltage devices may require specific licensing.
- Must possess reliable transportation.
