Position Overview


We are looking for a skilled and motivated Grants Accounting Manager to become a vital member of our finance department. This role presents an exciting chance for someone who is enthusiastic about financial oversight and grant management. As the Grants Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include managing the financial aspects of federal and state grants, local cost-reimbursable grants, and various funding sources. You will also be responsible for preparing financial statements, ensuring adherence to federal single audits, and upholding the integrity of the accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Supervise the financial oversight of federal and state grants, local cost-reimbursable grants, and other funding sources.
2. Generate and submit accurate financial reports to funding bodies in a timely manner.
3. Ensure compliance with federal single audits and other regulatory standards.
4. Maintain the integrity of the accounting function, including the creation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
5. Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure effective utilization of grant funds.
6. Provide guidance and training to staff on grant accounting issues.
7. Monitor and evaluate grant expenditures and revenues, offering regular financial updates to senior management.
8. Engage in the budgeting process, including the formulation of grant budgets.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or a related area, particularly with federal and state grants and local cost-reimbursable grants.
3. Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, federal single audits, and accounting principles.
4. Strong analytical abilities, capable of interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and forecasts.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
6. Effective communication skills, able to convey financial information clearly to non-financial personnel.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software is advantageous.
8. Proven commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
9. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with a focus on achieving organizational objectives.
