Job Summary

The Business Development Representative is responsible for maintaining long-term relationships with our current clients, while developing new business opportunities for Boston Analytical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive new client acquisition and growth.
  • Focus on growing current clients and finding new ways to provide services to them, including cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Manage the entire sales process from lead follow-up through maintenance of active client relationships.
  • Effectively deliver company presentations to prospective and current clients.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate pricing contracts to clients for services.
  • Achieve sales revenue goals and work collaboratively with fellow sales professionals.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by regular interactions with clients, including collaboration with the project management team.
  • Diligently maintain CRM data in real-time.
  • Provide market insight back to sales leaders and marketing teams.
  • Support marketing initiatives to foster sales success.
  • Attend sales-related off-site functions and conferences as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Chemistry, Biology, or related science discipline, with 3-5 years of sales experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Outsourcing marketplace. Previous laboratory experience with analytical and/or microbiology testing is also preferred. Successful candidates will have strong presentation, communication, analytical, and customer service skills. Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work autonomously. Attending professional networking meetings before and after normal business hours will be required. Travel within the U.S. and abroad may be required.

An understanding of the following is required: USP procedures, HPLC/GC, microbiology testing, dissolution, analytical development and validation, extractables and leachables testing, product release and stability testing, FDA, ISO, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's).
