Accounting Development Program Overview

In this rotational program, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Honda's accounting policies, practices, and standards. You will rotate through various job responsibilities within Honda, including financial planning and budgeting, capital investment, and labor expense process flows.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Honda's accounting policies, practices, and standards.
  • Develop basic skills for Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), problem-solving, and decision management.
  • Understand capital investment and labor expense process flows.
  • Prepare journal entries for financial transactions, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and analyze financial information for decision support to management.
  • Monitor and track financial performance of various operation divisions of Honda.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, highly self-motivated, and organized.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Understanding of principles of both US-GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Good understanding of financial statements and their use within and outside the organization.
  • Two (2) years or less of experience (preferred).
  • Co-op/Internship experience (preferred).
  • Willingness to relocate to various Honda locations throughout North America.
