Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, fixtures, and equipment
  • Conduct grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and pruning
  • Operate and maintain small engines, vehicles, and other equipment
  • Perform security duties to protect park visitors and state property
  • Assist with resource management projects, such as prescribed burns and noxious weed control
Requirements
  • Ability to manage work tasks effectively and prioritize customer service and safety
  • Ability to work as a team player and assist colleagues with tasks
  • Ability to stay on task and perform duties with limited supervision
  • Ability to operate small engines, vehicles, and other equipment safely
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Experience in security operations and emergency response
  • First Aid and CPR training or certification
Additional Requirements
  • Unrestricted Class D Driver's License with a clear driving record
  • Ability to meet physical requirements and work in environmental conditions
