Position Overview

Manage the administrative and daily operations of the facility maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty. The key functions include the following:

Property Maintenance:

  • Oversee and assign housekeeping, maintenance, repair, and painting tasks for all properties, including buildings (both interior and exterior), lawns, sidewalks, and driveways.
  • Inform senior management about the necessity for significant renovation projects and required building permits.
  • Conduct quarterly facility inspections and document the findings on a checklist.
Team Supervision, Scheduling, and Training:
  • Oversee the overall supervision and training of all personnel assigned to the Maintenance Department, including Maintenance Technicians and clients.
  • Evaluate job orders to establish work priorities.
  • Develop work schedules and estimate labor hour requirements for the completion of each job assignment.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to coordinate worker activities.
  • Supervise the collection and delivery of donated items as necessary.
  • Inspect work-in-progress and completed tasks for adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Ensure that each client worker comprehends and adheres to safe working practices, such as using eye protection, ear plugs, and gloves when necessary.
  • Encourage workers to achieve their work objectives.
Tools, Equipment & Supplies Management:
  • Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are readily accessible.
  • Safeguard all tools and equipment.
  • Inspect all power tools and equipment for compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Implement appropriate changes in working conditions, personnel assignments, and equipment usage to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work requests, supplies purchased, completed building maintenance, and other relevant documentation.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's vehicle insurance provider.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in facility maintenance and management.
  • Thorough knowledge of all facility systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
  • Class A Boiler License is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with job costing and inventory management.
  • Highly organized.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to remain focused and see projects through to completion.
  • Strong leadership abilities in both individual and group settings.
