Position Summary

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all functions related to payroll processing, ensuring compliance with local and union regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing tax reports, and managing voluntary and involuntary deductions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll cycles including weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls, with the capability to handle multiple payrolls concurrently.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of payroll documentation to ensure accuracy, utilizing audit reports to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Accounting departments on payroll-related matters.
  • Guarantee timely and precise processing of payrolls, ensuring all employee earnings and changes are accurately reflected.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Work with Benefits teams to ensure correct benefit deductions and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer unemployment claims, responding to filed claims and representing the company in hearings as necessary.
  • Prepare various payroll reports, journal entries, and reconcile quarterly payroll taxes.
  • Manage garnishments, deductions, and accruals for vacation and sick leave.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and provide necessary information.
  • Reconcile payroll bank statements and verify the accuracy of payroll deductions against output documents.
Qualifications

Experience with Crystal Reports and Excel is essential. A CPP certification is preferred.
