Position Overview:
The DFO is in search of a driven and intellectually curious individual with a minimum of one year of experience in the financial sector to join the cohesive Private Markets team. This team is tasked with the oversight and assessment of illiquid investments, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, and credit. The selected candidate will concentrate on manager selection across various private investment categories and may engage in broader investment projects. This role is structured as a three-year term, with potential for extension based on performance and evolving opportunities. Candidates may also receive mentorship for pursuing further education in investment management. The position is primarily based in New York City, with occasional travel to other offices as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Evaluation: Assist in the assessment, selection, and monitoring of Private Markets investment managers, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis throughout the due diligence process.
- Research and Reporting: Develop and maintain reports to identify prospective investments and opportunities, including ongoing analysis of managers and market trends.
- Due Diligence Support: Facilitate the manager due diligence process by gathering necessary information, conducting analyses, and summarizing findings from meetings and calls.
- Investment Recommendations: Contribute to the creation of materials that support investment recommendations, including memos and presentations.
- Portfolio Management: Build and maintain models to forecast investment exposures and outcomes, utilizing third-party software as necessary.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Assist in preparing comprehensive reporting materials for key stakeholders within the DFO.
- Process Optimization: Drive improvements in data management and analysis processes to enhance overall efficiency.
- Special Projects: Participate in executing special project requests as needed.
- Minimum of one year of experience in finance or investment management.
