Position Summary

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all functions related to payroll processing for both local and union employees. This role involves maintaining comprehensive records, filing necessary tax documents, and managing voluntary and involuntary deductions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll processing on a weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly basis, ensuring the ability to handle multiple payrolls concurrently.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of payroll documentation to ensure accuracy, utilizing audit reports to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Accounting departments to address all payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Guarantee timely and precise processing of payroll, ensuring all wage computations are correct and that any adjustments are made promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records and employee files, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Work in conjunction with the Benefits department to ensure accurate deductions and record-keeping.
  • Administer unemployment claims, including responding to filed claims and attending court appearances as necessary.
  • Review and audit master files and pay data entries, ensuring accuracy in year-to-date totals and making necessary amendments.
  • Prepare a variety of payroll and management reports, journal entries, and reconcile quarterly payroll taxes.
  • Handle all aspects of garnishments, deductions, and vacation/sick leave accruals.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding employment verification and payroll matters.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain client trust by safeguarding sensitive information.
Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience with Crystal Reports and Excel. A CPP certification is also preferred.
