Job Summary

Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice Processing: Process and review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Accounting System Management: Accurately code and enter invoices into the accounting system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Vendor Management: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, communicating with vendors as needed.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers, checks, and ACH payments, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
  • Accounts Payable Management: Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date, communicating with vendors regarding payment inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Month-End Closing: Assist with month-end closing, including reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Vendor File Maintenance: Maintain vendor files, including W-9s and any other necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Special Projects: Assist in the preparation of 1099s at year-end and collaborate with the finance team to improve accounts payable processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in Agriculture, Manufacture, or Construction industry is a plus.
