The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Stardom Employment Consultants, including managing and analyzing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to mentor and lead junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee daily financial operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements in all financial reporting.
- Coordinate and manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and reconcile complex accounts, including intercompany transactions, accruals, and prepayments.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Previous experience in the employment services industry is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in mentoring and leading junior accounting staff.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
This is a full-time position that requires working in an office environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
