Position Overview:
We are in search of a qualified Civil Engineering Specialist. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic work setting, demonstrating reliability, organization, and a commitment to precision. This role encompasses civil and geotechnical engineering responsibilities, contributing to the design, construction, and oversight of both public and private sector projects.

The position includes supervisory responsibilities over designated team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Drafting reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil enhancements on projects that may include residential, commercial, industrial, or similar developments.

Design, permit, inspect, and oversee the development of water systems, septic systems, or stormwater management facilities.

Selecting, monitoring, and evaluating suitable construction materials for project implementation.

Collaborating with regulatory agencies and clients to secure necessary planning and/or building approvals.

Engaging with relevant professionals such as architects or structural engineers. Assisting in addressing inquiries from contractors, public agencies, and officials, or the general public regarding policies, procedures, and practices.

Overseeing and inspecting work performed by contractors.

Administering and managing public and private works for bid contracts and the various components involved in project bidding.

Coordinating projects. In collaboration with Project and Construction Managers, assist in resolving field-related issues.

Ability to generate technical reports across various Civil Engineering disciplines.


Conducting Traffic Studies to assess existing and anticipated levels of service (LOS) standards on roadways and intersections for project development.

Performing additional related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


A Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Professional Engineer (PE), including relevant project design and construction management; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, certifications, and training.

Proficiency in executing engineering calculations and preparing engineering designs.


Experience sufficient to thoroughly comprehend the responsibilities of subordinate roles to effectively address inquiries and resolve issues, typically associated with one to three years of experience.


Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid driver's license issued by the appropriate authority for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.


Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training, or the ability to secure state registration within one year of employment and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.

Must successfully pass a federal background check and be eligible to work on public works projects.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
Familiarity with computer-aided design software (such as AutoCAD).

Knowledge of and compliance with state energy codes.

Proficiency in phone systems and Microsoft Suite.

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Understanding of state and federal regulations and standards for design, bidding, and construction.

Capability in analyzing, interpreting, and preparing reports.

Skills in both oral and written communication.

Ability to exercise professional engineering judgment to achieve results aligned with objectives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is generally performed while seated at a desk or table or while standing or walking.

The work environment includes both office settings and outdoor locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to machinery with moving parts.

REQUIRED:
